Meet Josh:
1. How did you hear about MnSearch?
Back in 2014, I was working for an events company and was helping Susan Staupe book some transportation when somehow digital marketing came up. She mentioned MNSearch, and when I started working downtown shortly after that interaction, I started attending MNSearch events.
2. What can attendees expect to take away from your session?
A better understanding of the differences between reporting and analysis, and use cases for when simple reporting will suffice and what requires a deeper analysis (and some tips on how to make your analysis a little more manageable).3. What is the biggest mistake you see people make when analyzing data or building reports?
Not giving the report/analysis enough context – reporting on individual metrics (not KPIs or goals) without telling a story.
4. What’s one piece of advice you wish someone gave you when you started your career?
It’s ok not having all the answers or making mistakes!
5. Besides analytics, what is one topic of discussion you could talk about for hours on end?
Digital privacy and internet security – ask me about the philosophy of the shared responsibility model. 🙂
6. What is the best part about working at Health Partners?
The people I partner with at Health Partners are great. It makes work a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoy learning and growing with my colleagues. A 10 minute commute isn’t bad either.
7. What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?
Any college football game anywhere in America. My wife and I plan to go to a game at every stadium in the SEC (and maybe the Big10, too)! We hit the University of Georgia last year and are looking to go to Ole Miss or Alabama this coming fall.
